Who is OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+ suitable for?
A woman’s vaginal flora is an important protective shield against harmful germs. Billions of different beneficial lactobacilli – also called lactic acid bacteria – ensure an acidic pH value in the vagina, in which pathogenic bacteria and fungi cannot multiply.
The development of the vaginal flora starts right from birth through the oral intake of beneficial bacteria. However, the delicate balance of the vaginal flora can quickly become unstable. This can be due to stress, a weakened immune system, medication such as antibiotics, excessive intimate hygiene, or hormonal changes (such as those caused by hormonal contraceptives, pregnancy or menopause). As a result, the important lactobacilli are reduced and can no longer fulfil their protective function adequately. As a result, harmful, pathogenic bacteria and fungi, such as Escherichia coli, Gardnerella vaginalis or Candida albicans, can easily multiply – an imbalance (= dysbiosis) develops.

How does OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+ work?
In the development of OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+, the selection of the right strains was essential! In a step-by-step selection process, 4 lactobacillus strains were identified whose use can demonstrably and sustainably regulate the balance of the vaginal flora.
OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+ is a food for special medical purposes for dietary management of a disturbed vaginal flora (dysbiosis), such as with bacterial vaginosis.
The 4 scientifically researched bacterial strains contained have the following properties and characteristics:
- They are part of the healthy vaginal flora
- Compensate for a lack of lactobacilli in the vaginal flora
- Are able to settle in the vaginal area
- Inhibit the growth of various pathogens (e. g. a. Escherichia coli, Gardnerella vaginalis and Candida albicans) in the vaginal area.

Why does oral intake also work with bacteria from the vaginal flora?
Vaginal health also begins in the intestine: From the beginning of life, the absorption of bacteria via the mouth and intestine is the natural way for beneficial bacteria to reach and colonise the vaginal area.
That’s why OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+ contains only lactic acid bacteria that survive the stomach passage and digestive juices so that they can enter the vagina via the intestine and also colonise and multiply in the vaginal area.
Disturbed vaginal flora: Go to the doctor!
It is important to seek medical attention for intimate complaints, to confirm the diagnosis (e.g. by means of a vaginal smear test), and to seek appropriate treatment to replenish the vaginal flora as quickly as possible.
The timely dietary therapy of a lack of lactobacilli in the vagina and the supplementation of the vaginal flora in consultation with the gynaecologist is particularly important during pregnancy, as infections with harmful germs can lead to an increased risk of premature labour or rupture of the amniotic sac and premature birth.
How is OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+ taken?
Stir 1 sachet of OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+ (= 2 g) into approx. 125 ml water 1-2 times daily, wait at least 1 minute for activation time, stir again and then drink. It is recommended to take on an empty stomach.
If you take OMNi-BiOTiC® FLORA plus+ 2 x daily (e.g. in the case of persistent or recurring dysbiosis of the vaginal flora), it is recommended to take it before breakfast and before dinner.
